NEWTON SQUARE, PA – Chester County Futures hosted its annual College Boot Camp for the Class of 2025 high school seniors on August 1st at SAP America's Newtown Square location. This pivotal event is designed to help graduating seniors transition into their first year of college or embark on a post-secondary path with confidence and clarity. The day-long camp offered students workshops that covered essential topics such as managing student loans and scholarships, handling peer and roommate conflicts, enhancing computer literacy, and navigating the complexities of artificial intelligence in academic settings. Esteemed guest speakers from Delaware County Community College, West Chester University, and Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, as well as Certified Facilitator and Keynote Speaker Jerry Franklin Poe provided invaluable insights.
“Working with our partners, volunteers, and staff in collaboration to host this annual college-prep boot camp gives our graduating seniors the tools, confidence, and real-world preparation they need to take that next big step in the fall,” said Mary Williams, Director of Community Engagement at Chester County Futures. “This event ensures our students feel supported, ready, and empowered as they begin their journey.” Katie Duffus, Executive Director of Chester County Futures remarked on the broader impact: "Our work goes beyond academics; it’s about helping students find their voice and advocate for themselves. With access to resources and mentorship today, they’re building a foundation for a stronger future.” The CCF College Boot Camp underscores the organization's commitment to fostering community connections that aid students in achieving personal success. It represents the strategic culmination of efforts aimed at ensuring each student's smooth transition into higher education or alternative career paths.
