From High School to College and Beyond: Preparing Students for Life After Graduation
When it comes to planning for the future, having the right guidance is key for students to have a smooth transition into life beyond high school. Being a part of programs like Chester County Futures can take the stress and the guesswork out of applying for college or choosing a career path. But how exactly does CCF help to make these important life transitions easier for students? Well, our program is designed to support them through every stage of the process.
CCF provides each student with the opportunity to define their future self in a post-secondary landscape of their creation. Our programs support Chester County area students in high school and as they plan for graduation and beyond. We support students in their college application process, their essay writing process, their SAT review process and their acceptance and financial aid processes in small-group weekly meetings. The program intentionally addresses college and career exploration through curriculum, activities, classroom presenters, student field trips, events and mentoring. The CCF staff works closely with each high school and college student to expose them to resources and support them with programming that encourages their success in life.
CCF at the high school level is a program that supports students as they explore and define their post-secondary path to college, trade school, or other programming after high school while fostering an environment supportive of academic and personal growth. Our program provides resources and support systems that may not be available to students elsewhere, such as personalized student-life development advising, peer to peer and adult mentoring, and community engagement opportunities that support future-focused goal setting. By addressing the unique needs of each student, our programs help them navigate the complexities of high school and college life, reducing barriers to success.
