Chester County Futures Partners with Ursinus College to Inspire Future Goals and Possibilities

COATESVILLE, PA — On October 17th, Chester County Futures hosted its annual College Expo at Ursinus College, offering high school students a unique opportunity to explore their post-secondary education options. The event brought together representatives from 50 colleges and trade schools and engaged 77 students from Coatesville, Kennett, Oxford, and Phoenixville Area High Schools in a day of exploration and learning.

"Education is not merely about the absorption of facts; it is the gateway through which potential transforms into reality," said Mary Williams, Director of Community Engagement for Chester County Futures. "Our College Expo serves as that crucial portal where dreams are mapped into real opportunities."

The expo is designed for participants of the Chester County Futures high school program, and allows the student to bring a guest who is not enrolled in CCF. Students had the chance to interact directly with college admissions representatives, gaining insights into various majors and career paths available within and surrounding Chester County's vibrant educational landscape.

"When you create environments brimming with possibilities like our College Expo, you're not just informing minds—you're reshaping them," said Katie Duffus, Executive Director of Chester County Futures. “This event reflects our mission — empowering motivated students by turning what once felt out of reach into real opportunities.”

In addition to meeting institution representatives, attendees were treated to an immersive collegiate experience at Ursinus College. Students enjoyed guided tours around campus followed by lunch in the dining hall—a tangible taste of college life designed to inspire future aspirations.

The expo stands as one of CCF’s cornerstone events aligning seamlessly with its mission to guide students toward successful futures beyond high school graduation. By blending direct engagement with educational institutions and experiential learning on a real-life campus setting, this initiative strengthens student resolve to pursue post-secondary education while broadening their horizons.
