Mentoring

One-to-One Mentors are caring adult volunteers matched with students of similar backgrounds or interests. Mentors make a minimum one year commitment to develop a relationship with their mentee student. Mentors provide the encouragement and support our students need to make positive educational and life choices.

Chester County Futures supports volunteer mentors by:

• Providing comprehensive and interactive training to prepare you for your role as a mentor.
• Facilitating regular Mentor Roundtables so mentors can learn from others' experiences.
• Distributing our Mentor Newsletter which features program highlights, a calendar of events, mentor resources, and more.
• Providing on-going support from our staff.

Mentors are expected to: 

• Connect with their student once a month in-person
• Connect with their student and communicate once a week
• Plan fun and enriching outings that BOTH of you will enjoy
• Make a minimum one-year commitment to their student
• Mentors will continue to talk, have regular face time and interact with their mentee on a frequent, scheduled basis.
