History & mission

Since its inception in 1996, Chester County Futures (CCF) has provided after-school programming, mentoring and scholarships to thousands of under-resourced teens in grades 9 to 12 through its Passport Program, structured to address the post-secondary achievement gaps present in each year of a student’s high school experience.

CCF’s Passport program offers a unique, intentional, grade-targeted after-school curriculum, purposefully structured to address needs, and goals in each year of a student’s high school experience. This format, combined with advising sessions, experiential learning and mentoring, best position our students for post-secondary success, effectively closing the achievement access gap persistent in the county. Our Passport students ultimately gain the critical preparatory skills required for milestone accomplishments in life.

Through the Passport Program, CCF staff facilitates all aspects of SAT and placement-related preparedness, college tours, visits to local corporations, application assistance and support with FAFSA  forms.

Additional supports are provided through the CCF Steps4Success program, in the form of scholarship monies up to $4,000/$500 per semester and routine one-on-one student/staff advisory sessions tracking progress, addressing challenges and guiding the transition to college, vocational training, and other accredited post-secondary educational programs.

Notably, CCF offers the only continuous high school to post-secondary support services of this kind in the county.

Demographics and Reach

Our student profile represents a predominantly first-generation diverse population of underrepresented youth. During our 30-year history, we have achieved a record of success with
  • 100% percent of Passport youth advancing to the next grade level
  • 100% of students engaged in post-secondary school exploration
  • 100% of students engaged in experiential career exploration

Financial Support

Initiatives outlined by our recently adopted strategic plan create robust opportunities for CCF to support an increasing number of students as they self-define the trajectory of their lives through post-secondary exploration, including workforce development.

Your financial commitment strengthens this initiative as an increase in student scholarship dollars reduces barriers to impactful achievements in the college and early career arenas.

Long Term Outcomes

We take pride in our CCF graduation and matriculation results surpassing the national and regional averages for this peer group and we remain focused on their continued milestone achievements. Although there are challenges ahead, our alumni are success stories and ultimately elevate their respective communities.
"Being a part of Chester County Futures exposed me to so much that helped inspire me to launch my own company.  There isn’t a week that goes by where I don’t use something I learned at CCF.”
